Sub: Payment of fees by PG Students for the Spring Semester 2017-2018In view of the Minutes of the 238th meeting of Board of Governors held on 12/8/2017, regarding modification of nontuition fee structure, the excess fees paid for Autumn 2017-2018 vide our circular (No.Acd./Fees-Autumn 2017-2018/2017, dated 03-05-2017) is being adjusted in Spring Semester 2017-2018.

The Ph.D. / M.Tech. / M.Des. / M.Phil and Dual degree (M.Tech. / M.Phil + Ph.D. and M.Sc. + Ph.D. ) students arerequested to pay their semester fees for the Spring Semester 2017-2018 latest by 18th December, 2017. The online feepayment module will be opened from 12th October, 2017.

All foreign national / NRI students are required to pay their semester fees off-line in the Cash Section between12th October, 2017 and 18th December, 2017 and present a copy of the fee receipt to the Academic Section for furthernecessary action.

Students to please note that semester wise registration is linked with the payment of fees.

# The Tuition fee rates to be paid by the Ph.D. students under non-sponsored categories (Group – I) has been revised. Therevised tuition fees is Rs.2,500/- per semester w.e.f Autumn Semester 2017-2018 onwards..

If a student fails to either pay fees or register for Spring semester 2017-2018 on or before 11 th January 2018 (last date for late registration with fine), his/her registration is liable for cancellation. For all students, payment of fees and registration in each semester are mandatory till submission of thesis/ dissertation / completion of programme.

The fees can be paid at <http://www.iitb.ac.in/asc > by the following modes : a. Canara Bank Net Banking

b. Online SBI Internet Banking c. PayU payment gateway (accepts major net-banking)

For students who may access the above site from outside IITB campus, necessary instructions for onlinefee payment will be available on ASC and Academic homepage.

Fee bifurcation is available on fee payment link which will displays total fee to be paid along with breakupfor each fee component.

Students paying fees online must ensure that transaction is completed in all respect. If no payment is credited toInstitute account before the due date (i.e. 18th December, 2017), late fine @ Rs.100/- per day will be levied forthe delayed period. Late payment of fees can also be paid ONLINE or at CASH SECTION.

Instruction for Non-concessional Fees Group students [Not applicable to FRN students]

1) All non-concessional fees group students who are enlisted above under Group – II may note that there is aprovision to earn concession in fees if they opt to do TA work for courses, laboratory or any otherrelated academic / administrative work as assigned by the Head of the academic unit to the extent of 8hours per week. Such students need to make formal application in the prescribed form - `Form A’latest by 31-01-2018. On receipt of completed form of Interest `Form A’, the Academic Office willrefund the difference amount of concessional tuition fees as applicable to the Masters/Ph.D. programmestudents accordingly.

2) All such students must also note that they are required to perform academic / administrative responsibilityto the satisfaction of the supervising faculty members(s) as assigned to them from the concerned Head /Convener of the Dept. / Center / School / IDPs, failing which they will have to forgo the concessionearned in the tuition fees and they have to pay the non-concessional fees (i.e. tuition Fee Rs. 25000/-) inthe subsequent semester. These students are required to submit `Form B’ - certificate of completion ofAcademic / administrative responsibility by 30-06-2018.

3) The Form “A” and “B” are available on IITB website : <http://www.iitb.ac.in/academic/downloadForm/>Research Scholars who are likely to submit their Ph.D. thesis on or before 1 st January 2018need not pay fees for Spring Semester 2017-18. Further, the Research Scholars who arecompleting six or more years from the date of their registration must seek prior permission fromPGAPEC for the continuation of their registration before making payment of fees.

It may please be noted that Cash Section accepts the fees only from the following

(i) Foreign /External students(ii) Students with bank loans (iii) Sponsored Fellowship Awardee (where the scholarship amount is received through a cheque or draft in the name of “The Registrar, IIT Bombay” from Private/Government agencies.)

It may please be noted that if a student fails to pay the fees and / or register himself / herself forSpring Semester 2017-18 on or before the 11h January 2018 (i.e. last date for late registration),his / her registration is liable for cancellation.

Post-Graduate students who have been allotted family accommodation or accommodation atTulsi / QIP quarters are required to pay license fees as applicable to their allotted quarters, inaddition to semester fees. Fee structure is available on the Institute websitehttp:// www.iitb.ac.in /academic/circular.jsp.

PS : All students availing hostel facilities may note that the Mess Advance has been increased toRs.20,000/- from the current Rs.15,000/- w.e.f. Academic Year 2017-2018.
