    La Cuisine Solaire - AurovilleOne of the most innovative green buildings in the country is thesolar kitchen at Auroville that best demonstrates the use of solarenergy to produce steam. This 1700 sq. m. kitchen is named thus

    because of the huge 15 diameter solar bowl that has been fixedat the top of the structure to harvest solar energy. On a clearday, this green structure can generate enough steam at atemperature of 150C that can be used to cook meals for 1000people, three times a day.
