  • Since businesses have the greatest potential to improve the health of our planet and citizens, as they become prosperous, they have a moral obligation to improve the conditions of a system that has helped them succeed. A properly implemented CSR concept can bring along a variety of competitive advantages, such as enhanced access to capital and markets, increased sales and profits, operational cost savings, improved productivity and quality, efficient human resource base, improved brand image and reputation, enhanced customer loyalty, better decision making and risk management processes. 5) Briefly explain any two unethical practices in HRM

    Unethical behaviors in HRM is being associated with the personal characteristics of

    the individuals working in the organisation, may as well arise from the organisation

    itself. Unethical conduct includes behaviors that lead to damaging consequences for

    the others, through disregarding the laws, policies, regulations and organisational

    norms, which define the broad legal parameters for the sustenance of the society,

    and are considered as illegal or unethical by the society.

    The following are unethical practices in HRM.

    Unfair Recruitment and Discrimination: Such as nepotism, quota system,

    favoritism, and asking for bribe. Giving preference to job candidates on the basis of

    the university attended. Discrimination on the basis of age, sex, race, marital

    status, religion, state of origin, disability, ethnicity, HIV/AIDS victims are unethical

    practices in recruitment and selection.

    Sexual harassment: commit unethical behavior by sexually harassing co-workers.

    This could involve making lewd comments, touching inappropriately or making

    unwanted sexual advances. Intimidate a co-worker by making demeaning

    comments, spreading gossip or even making verbal or physical threats. In general,

    a bully attempts to make the workplace uncomfortable and can escalate into

    violence.

    Balance is the keynote of Indian thought. We have synthesis, harmony

    between the dual concepts.

    The Individual is the central focus. Devine element in the individual is only a portion of the universe of the

    universal or cosmic consciousness.

    Gives greater emphasis on values, human and ethical. Knowledge is not power.

    Indian ethoses are based on Indian scripture. Indian thoughts provide eternal

    knowledge

    All work is worthy and honorable.

    Emphasis on duties and responsibilities.

    Deals with two types of knowledge. a) Knowledge of creation. b) Knowledge of creator.
