• Weather– Not a serious issue yet, but clearly will become a

Tips

• Room was tight – try to spread them out• Sneezes, sniffles, and sanitizer!

• Repeat information for blanks in big groups• Continually walk the room to ensure students are on

task and on the right page• Identify ‘highly stressed’ students early• Stay at/near the hotel when the class is large• Make friends with the hotel staff

Corporate Class setup

• Ensure you have the class location. (which bldg etc)

• Ensure you understand your access to the building and timing it’s really key.• Will you need a security badge• Will you have to be escorted

• Specify a training room preferably with classroom seating and verify what’s in the room (whiteboard, flipcharts, # of tables etc.)

• Ensure you as the instructor are facing the students and student’s are not facing the door or where they can see people entering before you.

• Make a sign to put on the door. PMstudy PMP Boot camp training in session.

Corp Class Setup - cont

• Find out the lunch schedule and amount of time it would take participants to grab something to eat and get back to class.

• Ensure you have all materials setup for the classes (backpacks, flipcharts, WB, CTB, calendar, hi-liters, & pens) also all copies of 3rd & 4th day materials before hand.

• Setup conference call between all participants and set ground rules and expectations.

• Ensure everyone has registered with PMI to take the test. (Give template if necessary); Find out if they have scheduled their exams.

Dollar General Corporate Class

• Nice facility, very organized

• Utilized their training room which was full of white boards.

• Too much chatter during concentrated review but I addressed it and it stopped.

• Students tend to congregate with filling in the blanks and highlighting and talking to each other while we’re covering the information so I slowed down the pace and asked lots of questions to them while covering material.

Dollar General Exp

• Director of PMO was in the room and very argumentative of material he’s also the son of an English and Math Professor so he was very critical of the verbiage in the material non forgiving.

• After deferring the comments several times the other student’s chimed in that he was just anal and he really stopped.

• Found a way to joke with the students so that when they questioned a question they realize they are learning.

Motorola

• Conference call with them was beneficial.

• Started a little late on 1st day due to no one in building until 8am.

• Class went well and students seemed eager.

• Concentrated study didn’t work well for the students even though I asked that they not bring laptops they used that time to answer emails and phone calls.

Motorola - continued

• Final day activities where they had to do the concentrated study they were threatening to leave and many were studying but ready to just take the final exam they were all ready to go because they had to get on the road. I cut it a little short.

• Big Boss was in the room with a few questions and he showed me their PMO docs and wanted me to explain how the PMBOK compared. That helped him grasp the information.

• I answered a few questions for them and gave a trivia to get everyone back on track before taking the rest of the final test.

Suggestions to increase salesExcitement and positive energy about what you are doing

draws people, it creates enthusiasm and inquisition.

Facebook statuses, Twitter & LinkedIn statuses should be updated regularly with Project Mgmt updates/titles/verbiage.

Professional signature with a byline like Sandra’s make getting your PMP your New Year’s resolution and include class dates for your area.

Getting Deals

• Tap into your network or friends and family let them know what you are doing now and see what they can do or who they can speak with to help.

• Pass out business cards @ social functions & collect cards write on back synopsis of conversation and send a follow up email.

• Have brochures on your person at all times they are very professional and give a good impression.

• Use the 3-foot rule anyone within 3 feet of you should know what you do.

This module was developed to streamline the mode of interaction

between the faculty and the back office team.

For sending any query to our back office team through the Support

Center, you have to raise a ticket. The ticket number will be a unique number which will be related to that particular issue for which you have raised the ticket. For raising a ticket, click on the ‘Support Center’ tab and then, click on ‘Submit a Ticket’ tab

The ‘Submit a Ticket’ contains the fields Department, Subject, Query, Query Type and Answer within.
