• All classes are designed for students sitting the Leaving Certificate in June 2012. • Classes are taught at Higher Level unless otherwise stated.• Tuition does not include practicals.• Classes begin the week of Monday September 12th 2011 and will conclude May 26th 2012. • All courses run for 30 weeks. • Students may join classes at any point in the year and as a result, fees are on a sliding fee scale (please check our website

for weekly amendments).• All classes are of 1.5 hours duration (with the exception of Classical Studies which runs for 2 hours per week).

** Special Note Regarding Geography and History

Geography• Fieldwork will not be included in the course. • Independent Academy offers a Geographical Field Study for the Leaving Cert.

2011/12 for students who require the Field Study element of the course***. • Core Topics: Physical and Regional Geography will be covered. • Elective: Human and Economic Elective offered. • Options: Geo-Ecology and Global Interdependence covered.

Other Courses on Offer at Independent Academy:• Irish for Entry to Primary School Teaching – This part time one year course is aimed at mature students repeating Irish

with a view to entering Primary Teacher training.

• HPAT Preparation Courses – Our intensive preparation course provide students with all the necessary strategies needed to ensure success in their HPAT.

• Intensive Leaving Certificate February Mid-Term, Christmas, Easter and Final Revision Courses – Intensive block sessions in a range of Leaving Cert subjects. Subjects are taught by our expert teachers in small classroom settings.

• Seminar Programme in a range of Leaving Cert. subjects

• Intensive Oral Language Preparation Courses in a range of Leaving Cert. Languages – Students work through key discussion topics with their teacher. Comprehensive notes are provided. Students partake in a mock oral, after which they receive detailed feedback. All students receive CDs of vital listening materials.

• ***Geography Field Trip & Mock Write Up – We offer a two day course for schools and students. Day one includes a full day’s field trip whilst day two involves a comprehensive mock write up under the guidance of our expert Geography teacher.

• Career Guidance – We offer a comprehensive range of Career Guidance Services.
