Spreading awareness about effective and cheap measures of fighting against Dengue and Malaria among the residents in the school neighbourhood.

Due to water logging diseases like Malaria and Dengue was in the air, it also added to bad smell. We thought of helping the Health department in saving lives.Some of our school children also stay in these locales.

Our group members went and spoke to the people regarding the issue and find the root cause of water logging in that area.

We also distributed camphor . They were very happy about the information that

camphor is an effective mosquito repellent as the ones available are not only expensive

but also injurious to health.

The water logging was due to a defective drainage system of a nearby apartment. We informed the Special Officer of the Notified Area about

the same. Our information alerted the concerned authorities who is taking the legal steps against them

We also distributed camphor to the local people and told about its uses.

Our students distributing camphor tablets as a part of the awareness about dengue and malaria.

This initiative helped us to realise and gain confidence that we can also make great changes by looking around. We were satisfied that our initiative dug out a major issue which was overlooked by many in the past.
