Vision Statement

Incarnation Parish is a Roman Catholic community centered around the Lord Jesus, a living sign of hope to all that the Word made flesh dwells among us. His presence and love is encountered in all areas of our life together, especially in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in Sacred Scripture and in the Sacraments. We seek to make the Lord's presence and love known through service and edu-cation, through evangelization and through con-tinual conversion and renewal in Him. We entrust our life together and our sharing in the mission of Christ to the protection and intercession of Mary, Mother of the Lord and our Mother.

Ministers’ Meeting. Tuesday, September 5 at 7:30PM. This important meeting at the beginning of the Parish Year for all Extraordinary Minis-ters of Holy Communion and Lectors will be an opportunity for prayer, rededication and

answering of any questions or concerns that you have in the service of the Lord and His people here at Incarnation. It will also allow the staff to communicate some urgent Parish Needs. Evening will conclude by 8:45PM. Please make every effort to attend.

NEW COMMUNION CHALICES. The parish has re-placed the Sunday Communion Chalices. The old ones were no longer fit to reverently hold the Precious Blood of the Lord. If you would like to memorialize a chalice please see Fr. O’Connor. A memorial inscription will be added to the base of the chalice. There is only one remaining.

Back to School Blessing. A Blessing of Students and school supplies will take place next Sunday, September 10, at the 10:30 Mass. All our parish children are invited to bring their knapsacks and new school supplies as we ask God’s Blessing for all our youngsters at the beginning of a new academic year.

LIVING LIGHTS. Securing an Annual Living Light Votive Candle to Honor a Loved One, Remember a Special Intention, or Mark a Milestone is a con-tinual and wonderful way to celebrate sentiments and offer intercessions of remembrance, hope and gratitude. Two wall mounted electric candle stands now hang in our church on either side of

the newly restored and expanded Saints’ Shrine. These unique and inviting candles are made of real wax with electrified illumination to insure your Living Light burns brightly throughout the year. A plaque displaying the name of your loved one, your intention, or your milestone will be mounted before your Living Light Votive Candle. Plaques will remain for the year you have secured your Living Light and may be renewed or rededicated for addi-tional 12 month periods. In addition to its rightful place before your Living Light in the Saints’ Shrine, your Loved One, Special Intention, or Milestone will also be included in the Living Light Section of the Parish Website. See the blue brochure by the church doors or contact the rectory for more info: 718-465-8534.

The Shepherd Speaks

We do not get dignity from power or money or culture. We get dignity from work. Work is fundamental to the dignity of the person. Work, to use an image, 'anoints' with dignity, fills us with dignity, makes us similar to God who has worked and still works, who always acts. . . .I address a strong appeal that the dignity and safety of the worker al-

ways be protected - Homily Memorial of St. Joseph the Worker 1V13 Casa St. Marta

CHRISTIAN INITIATION. Do you know a family member or friend who is interested in becoming a Catho-lic?
