INCA V7.1 SP10 – What's New
ProF
ProF – New Commands for reading/writing binary data into/from String
Variables and using it for PROF commands
1. ProF provides a new command for reading data from a binary file and storing
it into a ProF String Variable so that it can be used for other ProF commands
like e.g. UDS_TRANSFER_DATA, UDS_PASS_THROUGH.
GET_STRING, GET_STRING_FILE, SET_STRING, SET_STRING_FILE
This allows to send data from a binary file to the ECU, e.g. fingerprint data, a security
key, flash data, etc.
2. ProF provides new commands for storing the last ECU response into a String
Variable and for writing data from a ProF String Variable into a binary file
UDS_~, KWP_~, CCP_~, XCP_MSG_RET_GET
This allows to write ECU responses into a binary file
Note: See the updated ProF documentation for details on the new commands

INCA V7.1 SP10 – What's New
CAN-FD
Switching between ISO / non ISO Mode
During standardization process of the CAN-FD protocol V1.0 from
BOSCH it was detected a weakness in the detection
of the bit error in the CAN-FD format which was
fixed with the CAN-FD ISO version!
INCA allows to switch the CAN-FD interfaces
(ES523) between
ISO and
non ISO Mode

INCA V7.1 SP10 – What's New
XCP V1.3
New XCP V1.3 Features
INCA supports ASAM XCP v1.3 for the transport layers CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay and Ethernet and on all
hardware devices, except on the legacy devices ES590, ES591, ES690 and ES1222.
The following subset of the XCP v1.3 features are supported:
• Support of new XCP 1.3 AML
INCA supports reading XCP 1.3 ASAP2 files
• Support of the new XCP 1.3 Error Codes and Error Handling
• ECU Resource consumption for dynamic raster
INCA supports extended formulas for the calculation of the resource consumption on Multi-Core ECUs
Multi-Core Load Consumption
Calculation of the Core Load Consumption on MultiCore-ECUs
ECU RAM Consumption for the dynamic raster check
Extended formula for the calculation of the ECU RAM consumption

INCA V7.1 SP10 – What's New
XCP
Resume Mode / Fast Start with dynamic DAQs
INCA now supports the XCP "Resume Mode" feature also with dynamic DAQs, when
Identification Field Type is “absolute ODT number” and for all transport layers (CAN, CAN-
FD, FlexRay and Ethernet)

INCA V7.1 SP10 – What's New
ASAP2 V1.7
Keyword MATRIX_DIM
The ASAP2 V1.7 extends the already existing keyword MATRIX_DIM
Now the number of dimensions is optional. The ASAP2 file states only
the dimensions that are really used.
INCA supports now both interpretations (E.g. 3x4 Array)
ASAP2 <= V1.6.1 Mandatory are 3 dimensions MATRIX_DIM 3 4 1
ASAP2 = V1.7 Only the needed dimensions are stated MATRIX_DIM 3 4
needed dimensions
mandatory but not needed
(1 means not needed)
only needed dimensions are stated

9
INCA V7.1 SP10 – What's New
ASAP2 V1.7
Keyword STATIC_ADDRESS_OFFSET
For ASAP2 parameters like Curves, Maps, Cuboids.
A RECORD_LAYOUT with STATIC_ADDRESS_OFFSETS keeps the start addresses of the
single parts (axes, output values) fix
When removing axis points the single parts a adapted, but not the start addresses

The usage of INCA on a virtual machine (VM) is restricted and not recommended:
− The VM needs sufficient working memory (RAM), otherwise the performance of INCA goes down
− Access to sufficient graphic card memory (Direct X) is necessary, otherwise the oscilloscope representation of measurement signal is not possible
− Access to hardware interfaces Ethernet, USB, PCMCIA, … is necessary, otherwise INCA cannot use the connected hardware
− Measure samples may be lost and the accuracy of time stamps is not guaranteed as the higher task priority for hardware access (Target Server) is not given
− ETAS does no special tests concerning VM machines
ETAS recommends to use real PC hardware.
