Welcome and thanks for coming to this lecture. Throughout the lecture I’ll be talking about some of my own published work as I explore historic reflections on legal developments in sexuality and offer some queer perspectives.

Whilst tonight is a slightly shameless ego trip (in the best traditions of an inaugural lecture), I wouldn’t be here talking about this work if it hadn’t been for the awesome colleagues and amazing students who have shared that journey. Thank you for indulging me, supporting me and acting as a creative inspiration. Long may it last.
