This week we have started to tie-in BTBYC with developing a positive growth mindset.
Thank you to Mrs Owen for leading the assembly on Monday, which focused on sup-
porting and encouraging others and persisting in the face of setbacks.
It is wonderful to see the children continuing to embrace a ‘Can-do’ attitude in their learn-
ing and when interacting with others. They have also worked harmoniously during singing
assembly to learn our “School Rules Song” – I wonder if they could share it with you at
home?
Our newsletter will now be coming out fortnightly. This will enable instantaneous and fluid

Keep an eye on the Cornish and Devon Post for our preview as “School of the Month” for May.
There are many improvement plans afoot, but the one I would like to focus on is the “Big Dig” - planned for Saturday 16th
June. So please dig out your wellies, tools and green-fingers and come join in the fun!
We hope to:
Rejuvenate the pond area
Complete the 1K path
Build a herb bed for the Class 1 garden
Create gardening plots where the old adventure trail used to be
Spruce-up the entrance to the school
Any donations of plants, herbs or bulbs would be gratefully received and will really help to support the development of the
outdoors. A time will be confirmed closer to the date.
Here is a before photo – If we receive the same support as last time, I know the after photo is going to be hugely improved!

Class One have worked incredibly hard this week and all deserve praise for their efforts. Writer of the week, however, goes to Roman Dowie for his use of exciting vocabulary to describe a room in the chocolate factory. Latisha Ham is awarded Name in Lights for respecting herself and others, showing consistently good effort and behaviour and working supportively with others. Frankie Smith is awarded the second Name in Lights for his super attitude in PE this week. He proved himself to be a good team player, encouraging others and taking part wholeheartedly in a team game. Well done!
Class 2
Writer of the week goes to Tilly for her fantastic range of vocabulary in her hot write.
Name in lights - awarded to Melissa for managing her distractions and focusing on her English
Name in lights- awarded to Ethan for his perseverance in maths and telling the time.
This week we have continued our work on time and converting time from both 12 and 24 hour clocks. Our writing has focused on our hot write of a newspaper report and the children are really enjoying trying to use a great range of vocabulary in their writing. In music the class learnt another note and tune on the recorders. We are still monitoring and recording our plant height in science and have learnt the key functions of the parts of a plant. Class 2 have enjoyed designing and making their own shields as part of our 1066 topic. It has been another busy week and the children are all working hard. Please can I remind all of class 2 that they need to be reading 5 times a week and recording it in their reading records and also accessing times table rockstars at home with their logins which are inside their reading records. Thank you for your continued support.
Class 3 This week Class 3 have been journeying into “Narnia”. This provided a perfect stimulus for improving their diary writing skills. Mrs Bridle visited the class again and if you haven’t yet logged onto the class Dojo page, please do. The class are honing their netball skills on a weekly basis with Mrs Owen who was particularly impressed with their enthusiasm this week, well done Class 3! Homework is beginning to come in, please can I remind all chil-dren to ensure they are completing and sharing their homework projects with the class. Well done to those who have already.
