In the Loop February 10, 2015 Collaborative Classrooms K – 3 Classrooms Partnerships Mark Your Calendar! February 17: MPB/Mississippi First ELC Reception, Jackson, MS. All PreK collaborative stakeholders are invited to attend. Please contact Meghan for the RSVP email. March 17: TELA Partners Meeting, 2 p.m., C.E.S. March 24: SPARK LCP Meeting, Charleston. March 24 & 25: MDE Site Visit These are the new dates! Meghan will contact partners for documentation assistance in the coming weeks. March 26: PreK Registration Events, C.E.S. & R.H.Bearden. Please help us spread the word! Coordination: Curriculum mentors and ICS education staff have been meeting over the last few weeks to make sure that TELA collaborative classrooms are meeting all Head Start and MDE requirements. Our next joint meeting is on March 3 rd , when we will discuss assessments. OWL Assessments: All of our collaborative classrooms have completed the 2 nd Progress Monitoring Assessment. TELA staff is gathering this data and hope to share our students’ progress soon! CLASS: Post-assessments are being completed on teachers who received their CLASS coaching in the fall. We look forward to seeing growth! Countywide Leadership: On February 21 st , a group of educators from both Charleston Elementary School and R.H. Bearden will meet together to plan for our students’ academic success in the 2015 – 2016 school year. We are excited about collaborating across county and generating great ideas about how to move Tallahatchie County forward! MDE Visit Rescheduled: MDE will be visiting our collaborative classrooms on March 24 th and 25 th . They will monitor (through observation and documentation) the following areas: Enrollment & Age Eligibility Daily Schedule Staff Qualifications Teacher-Child Ratio Professional Development Curriculum & Assessments Health Screenings Parental Involvement That’s a lot to gather!
