Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystals made of organic ligands connected by metal cations(orclusters) intoa3Dnetwork.Theyareactivelyinvestigatedinleadingscientific laboratoriesallovertheworldowing to their intriguing structures (regular and well-definedmolecular scale cavities!), unique properties andnumerouspotential applications, suchas gas storage, drugdelivery, catalysis, sensor technology, ionexchange,non-linearopticsandmanyothers.
The aim of this project is to create a revolutionary new class of ‘intelligent’ MOFs, able to adapt to theirenvironmentinresponsetoexternalphysicalorchemicalstimuli(seetheschemeabove).
Our offer: - an opportunity to participate in a groundbreaking and interdisciplinary research project run incollaborationwithleadingMOFlaboratoriesfromUSAandGermany(MIT,AugsburgUniversity),-state-of-the-artresearchfacilities:SupramolecularChemistryLaboratoryislocatedinanew,modernbuildingofBiologicalandChemicalResearchCentre.Forpicturessee:www.mchmielewski.pl,-youcanbeapartofa6-memberedteamcomposedofPI(DrMichałChmielewski),1postdoctoralresearcherwithmanyyearsofexperienceinthefield,2PhDstudentsand2MScstudents-generousfellowships.
