During Climate Diplomacy Week, EU Delegations and embassies of several EU Member States around the world hold various events to foster dialogue and cooperation on climate change, showcase success stories and inspire further action.

Events organised during the week will include conferences, citizens’ debates, exhibitions, film screenings and other outreach activities bringing together a wide range of stakeholders and communities.

A key theme this year will be the Talanoa Dialogue – a facilitative process to take stock of the collective and individual efforts towards the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change. Running throughout 2018, the Talanoa Dialogue is a key moment focus on the solutions and potential associated with the low-carbon transformation.

Adaptation, Mitigation, Disaster Risk Reduction tent

Disaster preparedness is highly beneficial for communities located in disaster-prone areas. Preparedness to hazards, such as extreme weather and flooding, can help reduce the impact of such catastrophes on lives, livelihoods and communities. Better know-how, practice and response mechanisms, such as early warning systems and other disaster preparedness activities can save lives and speed up the recovery of communities.
