A Little Laugh... A fruit farmer hired two new work-ers for his fields, but before he sentthem out for the day’s work, hetold them he had just one rule:don’t steal any fruit. The two agreedto obey the rule. After the day was over, the twoworkers came in to report to thefarmer. He asked them if they hadstolen any fruit, and immediatelytheir conscience forced them to tellthe truth. ”Yes, we did. We ate some whenwe got hungry,” they said. The farmer replied, “Ok, here isyour punishment. I want each ofyou to go pick ten of your favoritefruit and come back to me.” The men couldn’t believe theirears. This seemed more like a re-ward than a punishment! After fifteen minutes, the first thiefcame back with ten cherries. Thefarmer promptly told him that aspart of his punishment, he wouldhave to stuff each cherry up hisnose. The thief was upset aboutthis, but he knew he had donewrong, so he slowly began to pushthe cherries up his nose one byone. As he was working on the thirdcherry, he began to laugh hysteri-cally. The farmer asked him,“What’s so funny?” The thief replied, “The other guyis out there picking watermelons!”
