Original duo compositions and improvisations take shape through the lens of their diverse musical backgrounds with roots in Montana, North Africa, and the Middle East (Lavin), as well as Chicago, former Yugoslavia, and Los Angeles (Wilson). With appearances by expert of Middle East vocal traditions Albert Agha and Spanish percussionist Pablo Infante-Amate, In Passing celebrates musical commonalities among diverse traditions and renders visible the ephemerality of sonic convergences.
