Zagreb, 18 May, 2020 In spite of all undertaken measures, and considering new circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 epidemic in the Republic of Croatia, it is possible to expect certain difficulties in carrying out activities of the official statistics in the forthcoming period. For safety and protection of both the employees of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and our users, we are striving to undertake all necessary measures in line with recommendations of competent bodies in order to prevent the uncontrolled spread of the COVID-19 epidemic. Data collection We are well aware of the fact that, due to difficult working conditions, many reporting units will not be able to submit filled-in reports on time. Since your support is extremely important to us in an effort to ensure official statistical data to our users and broader public, please submit your reports later on, i.e. as soon as the situation allows. Furthermore, we would like to inform you that, as of 18 May 2020, field surveys are carried out in direct contact with reporting units in compliance with the prescribed precautionary measures (social distancing, use of protective masks, hand disinfection). Data publishing In respect of difficulties that are expected to emerge in the process of collection and processing of statistical data as well as their publishing, departures from deadlines set up in the Calendar of Statistical Data Issues are possible. For safety and protection of both the employees of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and our users, we are striving to undertake all necessary measures in line with recommendations of competent bodies in order to prevent the uncontrolled spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
