Meet IMM’s 1000th Team Member —Adam Abuso
Unbeknownst to him, as Adam completed his registra-
tion form to join the mission trip with his senior class at
Dayspring Christian Academy he had become In Motion
Ministries’ 1,000th team member! This was the first of
many milestones for Adam’s Mission Trip Journey.
The announcement of Adam being #1,000 came at a Day-
spring Chapel. He was given a specially designed T-shirt,
a jar of 1,000 pennies, and an enormous sugar cookie
which spelled 1-0-0-0. His friends helped him carry it
out, and we suspect they helped him consume it!

IMM’s 1000th Team Member—Adam Abuso This was Adam’s first mission trip and his first experience outside of
the United States. Seeing true poverty evokes emotions in all of us.
Even the most humble of homes is apt to have bars on the windows.
The roads are so deeply pitted that at times the bus could get the
team only so far, and then they would walk to their place of minis-
try or construction. Locals take simpler forms of transportation.
Adam’s favorite part of the ministry was the manual labor. In three
days the team was able to lay a cement floor for a church in a Hai-
tian village. The precious people in this church had sold vegetables
and prayed for 8 years to get this floor put in their church. They
felt like they were 3 years away from getting this accomplished.
Along came the team from DCA, and it was done in 3 days. The
cement was mixed on the ground, shoveled into wheelbarrows,
dumped out on the church floor, and smoothed. Hard Labor! Vil-
lagers that were passing by would curiously stop to watch. Many
chose to get involved. Some would demonstrate more effective
ways to do the work - - then keep doing the
work themselves. They especially did not
like seeing the girls working so hard. There
were smiles, some communication
(considering the language barrier), laughter,
and appreciation. With such humble circum-
stances, the locals were thrilled with some-
thing so simple (to us) as the gift of work
gloves that a team member brought with
them.

Meet IMM’s 1000th Team Member—Adam Abuso Before the team left for their day of recreation they stopped by
the church so all could see the finished product. When they ar-
rived there was music playing, balloons adorned the church, a
beautiful cake was decorated, and people from the church were
there to thank them. There was joy and tears at the same time.
The church gave the team a plaque expressing their apprecia-
tion. How easy it is to share God’s love by meeting simple
needs, and what joy it brings to the giver’s heart.
