President’s Report

It’s Changeover season in District 9810 and it’s been another

busy week.

I attended our cluster clubs Changeover nights and made some valuable contacts. The four clubs in our cluster are en-thusiastic about working together on projects this coming year. One of the guests at Sandringham’s dinner was Leslie Falloon. Leslie is still as bright as a button and will be celebrating her 100th birthday this year. Leslie was Mayor of Sandringham 1982-83 and1991-92 and founder of the Bayside Mayoral Charity Golf Day. Leslie donated the Leslie Falloon Perpetual

Trophy for women in 2016.

Our first event for the year was a vocational visit to Co-ex and Jim O’Brien’s business Surepak. We were fascinated to learn how the every-day items that we take for granted are pro-duced. Then on to the Dingley International for a delicious pasta meal and more fellowship. Thanks to Trish for organis-ing the event and thanks to Steve and Honnie and Jim and

Andrew for the informative tours and talks.

Our new Board will be meeting on Tuesday evening 10 July.

The Farmers Market is on this Saturday 14th. We will be raf-fling a painting from the Art of Kakadu collection, and cushion covers. Proceeds will be donated to the “End Trachoma by

2020” campaign. Hope to see you there.

Dr Adrian Bertolini will be our guest speaker this Thursday. Adrian Bertolini is the Founder & Director of Learning of Intuyu Consulting - an educational consultancy that works with teach-ers and schools to unleash learning. His journey began as a curious kid growing up in Dandenong and led him to be an en-gineer and Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering at RMIT University. Along the way he saw that being a life-long learner was what he was passionate about, so he founded his own consultancy to make a difference to schools. He now works across Australia and will be running three conferences to spark

careers in STEM for girls

RAINBOW ROAD

When owned by

slaveholders, the

buildings of Cape

Town's Bo-Kaap

neighborhood were all

painted white. Upon

gaining their freedom,

the quarter's majority-

Muslim occu-

pants painted their

houses in bright col-

ors to celebrate Eid,

the end of Ramadan.
