Crawl Control*, Hill Assist Control** and Multi-Terrain Select* regulate the motion of each of your wheels independently

– automatically braking and accelerating to enable you to navigate up or down the most punishing and uneven

The Land Cruiser Prado goes to extremes to protect you and

your family. As a driver, your first line of defence is avoidance,

which is where the advanced handling of your Land Cruiser Prado

comes into its own. The KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension

System)* optimally balances the effect of the front and rear

stabilisers by electronically controlling a set of valves. Optimal

use of the stabilisers results in outstanding on-road comfort

and stability, alongside uncompromised traction off-road.

Stopping power and control when braking is ensured through

large 4-pot calliper brakes, further enhanced through Multi-

terrain ABS (Anti-lock Braking System)*. A key factor in

accident avoidance is visibility. When the African skies open,

your Prado’s rain-sensing wipers* switch on automatically.

When you engage reverse gear, the navigation screen*

becomes a monitor for the rear-mounted camera*. Used in

tandem with a park distance control that uses sensors to detect

obstacles around the vehicle and a buzzer to indicate proximity,

it lets you know exactly what’s behind you and how far it is,

whether it’s a boom, boulder or buffalo. Combined with the

Blind Spot Monitor*, reverse parking or fine manoeuvring has

never been easier or safer.

In case of collision, the reinforced chassis, passenger safety

shell and door impact beams are designed to maintain structural

integrity, while strategic crumple zones absorb the impact.

Inside, the cabin is cocooned by a combination of front, side and

curtain shield airbags. Further driver protection is provided by a

2-stage system with an additional knee airbag.
