ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
SESSION 1: 21ST CENTURY WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP
The increase in female leaders has gained the attention of many people over the past few years. Nowadays more young women graduate from universities, yet the number of female leaders seems remarkably low. There is no doubt that women face many challenges to get to leadership positions. In addition to the traditional role at home, stereotyping, and discrimination, women continue to face more obstacles due to gender- based assumptions.
Key focus areas: • The influence of stereotyping men and women• The advantages of having a female leadership style• The reasons why women face discrimination
SESSION 2: SUPERWOMEN IN THE FUTURE – MOTHER, WIFE, DAUGHTER AND CAREER
Marriage is like gymnastic competition, it requires all the complex balancing skills to mas-ter. One of the most challenging aspects could be the fine line between living your passion, supporting your partner’s dreams and, somehow, still building a life together. For most fam-ilies, even when the members share similar personal and professional goals, this precarious balance demands endless adjustments and the occasional falls.
Key focus areas: • What does it take to become a superwoman?• Rights and responsibilities of future women• How to create more time in the day for your work and family• How to succeed in love and in life without sacrificing one for the other
In many ways, it’s great to be a woman living in 2018 as more women are educated, making change and their achievements are being celebrated. Today, women are not only participating in various industries, but in some cases they are also holding more positions of power and are being well paid. However, the fight for gender equality still has a long way to go. In line with this year’s campaign theme for the International Women’s Day “Press for Progress,” Muslim women are making impressive headway.
For the second year, The Muslim World Women’s Summit continues to be a premier, exclusive platform to emphasise and highlight the role of women in the development of different sectors across the Muslim world. The participants share and exchange opinions on issues related to women’s involvement in social and political, business, education and corporate sectors. The purpose is to amplify the message of empowerment and service to society and to highlight the many ways in which women contribute to the world.
Using their inspirational life stories, the participating women will engage in meaningful dialogue during various sessions to reflect on previous experiences and plan for future progress. While this enhances the contribution of women leaders to the economic growth of their nations, it also serves to motivate the youth to appreciate the integration of efforts exerted by men and women for the betterment of humanity. They will be better prepared to face the challenges and create impactful solutions.
