Ephesians 4:25-27

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. ‘In your anger do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

Ephesians 4:28-29

He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Ephesians 4:30-32

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Some people adopt a LEGALISTIC mindset living as though God is just waiting for them to mess up.

Can there be any more beautiful words to one who has blown it than, “In Christ you are FORGIVEN.

…Such vivid language emphasizes the COMPLETENESS of God’s forgiveness.

To be forgiven is to be made CLEAN.

Jesus’ blood is the ultimate STAIN remover.

To be made clean doesn’t discount that stuff has happened; only that stuff no longer has the right to DEFINE who I am.

To be forgiven is to no longer be CONDEMNED

Forgiveness means to release the debt, or in the words of a recent movie, “LET IT GO”.

God LOVES you more than He HATED your sin.

To be forgiven is to be at PEACE with God.

Peace is not only the absence of hostility but the open door for BLESSINGS.

The hard one is not that to be forgiven means to be made clean, not condemned, and at peace, but to be forgiven is also a call to FORGIVE.

We are to extend GRACE because GRACE has been extended to us.
