It was started in February, 2008 in Pantnagar market. PatanjaliAyurvedic products are pure and effective, scientifically developed Herbomineral medicines prepared by Swami Ramdevjiand Acharya Balkrishnaji. These products were broadly categorized into three main categories Medicinal Value Products(Ayurved and Herbs); Food Products (Foods and Juices) and Cosmetic Products. The Kendra was started with 26 patanjaliproducts but day by day the demand of consumers for Patanjali products has increased. Indian Government and USIn a significant move to give the much-needed impetus to propagation ofAyurvedic drugs and medical practices in the United States, theGovernment of India, in association with the Indian Consulate in NewYork, will soon set up an Ayurveda Development Board in the US.(pharmabiz September 26, 2000). A decision to this effect was taken atthe Ayurveda Conference held in New York in the second week ofSeptember, under the aegis of the department of Indian systems ofmedicine and Homeopathy (DISM&H). According to a governmentrelease, the Board will act as a platform from where information on Indiangovernments policies and projects with regard to Ayurveda could bedisseminated to the groups/scientists/institutions in the US. Importantly,the Board would function as an intermediary between Indian industry andthe US-FDA with a view to identifying the promotional efforts needed toenhance the credibility of Ayurvedic products in that country. One of the mandates of the proposed Boardwould be with individual Ayurvedic drug manufactures as also apexindustrial bodies like the Confederation of Indian Industry. By acting inconcert with the US Medical Schools Department of Alternative Medicine,the Board would work towards introduction of academic courses onAyurveda. Such courses are expected to give exposure training to the USmedical graduates and such other qualified groups. As a beginning, amodule for training the physicians in the US would be developed. Expertsfrom the Gujarat Ayurveda University would be entrusted to finalize themodule, which would be printed and made available widely in the form ofan essential curriculum. As part of the program, the DISM&H would alsoprovide sponsorship to selected Ayurvedic college teachers as per themodule. In addition, the board will establish a cell to coordinate with allNGOs who have an interest in the propagation of Ayurveda in various partof the US. Among the main functions of the Board would be alerting theCGs office or the embassy against any misuse of goodwill of Ayurveda byunscrupulous elements.
