Improving Board Results by creating evidence
We had the ‘hunch’ that personalised feedback would help students identify areas of weakness and thus improve results.
We wanted to get this ‘hunch’ tested. So, in November, 2015, we decided to
undertake an experiment in which some of our students got personalized feedback (Treatment Group), others did not (Control Group).
We wanted to measure the difference in results between the two, and if beneficial, adopt it this year for all our students.

Target Plus was introduced in GNII and three
other branches of CMS around Pre-Boards
In our first batch of ICSE in 2014-15, we had
not taken up Target Plus exam.
In this batch of ICSE, we had 95 students.
Out of these 29 had got marks 90% and
above.
The lowest percentage was 72%.
In 2015-16, 108 students appeared in
ICSE. After taking up Target Plus Exam in
November 2015, there was a marked
improvement.
Students getting 90 % and above
increased from 29 in 2014-15 to 43 in
2015-16.
The lowest aggregate also rose up from
72 % in 2014-15 to 78 % in 2015-16.
In 2015-16 we had only Maths and Science
papers conducted by target plus therefore
there was a marked improvement in
Maths and Science marks of students.
Of the 92 students who sat mathematics, 69 took TARGETplus, 23 did not.
While 33% of TARGETplus group received marks above 90%, only 5% of the non-TARGETplus group did so.
The 69 TARGETplus students and the 23 non-TARGETplus were spread across the different percentile groups within the class. (Chart A)
Difference in difference analysis showed gain was significant in all percentile groups except for the top, but then there was just one student who was non-TARGETplus in this group, the remaining 15 had taken TARGETplus.

PERSONAL DISGNOSIS & SMART
STUDY PLAN
Each student was provided with individual
detailed analysis of their performance which
helped them to improve their performance
even more.
Not only for students, Target PLUS is a ready tool for
the teachers who can access the mock papers and
create their own diagnostic mocks and generate
smart plans in an instant. They can monitor the
mocks in both online and paper & pencil formats. It
makes a teacher's life so much easier.
SCHOOLS
Teacher reports are diagnostic overview of the entire class by topic and sub-topic. A teacher knows exactly where the strengths and weaknesses of a class lie. Teachers save time by teaching backwards those topics that are easy for a class and giving maximum time to those topics that are difficult for the entire class. Though they already often know which students are weak or strong, they are always happy to get the class report that shows them, objectively, where they need to focus more and in each topic which students are struggling more.
Teacher Reports
TEACHER REPORTS
Teachers were provided with guidelines
through colour bands, wherein they were able
to understand in what aspects the children are
doing well and where they need to re-teach a
topic to build up the concept.
Evidence Matters.
This year, we have made TARGETplus compulsory for
all our students and we started off earlier than last
year. We are confident of even
better results.
