THE PROBLEM TO SOLVE

➤ Killer app but with a 2.5 star review average ➤ Started out at 4.7 as a $1 app but started to decline in 2015

when it went free ➤ Most users are more inclined to review when unhappy

➤ We received recurring one-star reviews due to unfulfilled feature requests

➤ Average ra@ng reset with every minor new version ➤ Counteracted by buyer’s bias (but only for paid apps)

➤ Review form used as feedback channel, with no way for us to respond

SOLUTION: THE TRINKET!

➤ A star is born! ➤ Presented aher a number of key ac@ons within a @meframe

by the user ➤ Open app / Save song / etc…

➤ Does not block the UI ➤ Animated to call for acen@on ➤ Non-intrusive enough that it can remain onscreen and not

feel in the way ➤ Feels like an opportunity rather than an obliga@on ➤ Tapping the star presents modal dialog to guide user to submit

review

GOTCHAS AND TIPS

➤ Make the users curious ➤ Alert without disturbing but s@ll make it visible

➤ We don't want anyone to dismiss it just to get it out of sight ➤ Let the users ini@ate the feedback procedure

➤ Means they are not busy! ➤ Design ques@on: What’s the right amount of asser@veness in

promp@ng for feedback?
