Add comments within classification
When classifying a product, it
is sometimes useful to add
tariff classification decisions
within comments.
These decisions can explain
why an individual code has
been chosen and can help
during customs audits for
example.
Please note that those
comments are language
independent.
The following slide shows how comments can now be added within classification in SAP GTS:

Improve Visibility of Documents within Classification
When documents have been added to an existing classification, the existence needs to be indicated by an icon.
In previous GTS versions, this icon is shown in a column on the very right of the tree control. Unfortunately This column will be
hidden when working on the classification and it is not possible to rearrange the order of those columns:
For customs audits for example, a clear classification documentation is needed: it needs to be shown why a specific product
was classified in a certain way. The following slide will show how the visibility of documents within classification was
improved.

Improve Visibility of Documents within Classification
The following slide shows how the visibility of documents within classification was improved:
In the area “Attachments” it is now
possible to display, add or delete various
documents as attachments in different
formats.
In previous versions, it was possible to
define attachments for products and legal
regulations.
Now, attachments can be defined for the
classification itself as well.
Visibility was also improved by having
only one icon displayed for existing
attachments.
Visibility was improved by displaying the
corresponding area the attachment
belongs to: classification or legal
regulation for example.

Fix bug on classification screen when trying to input
multiple selection
Improvement Request
You want to use the multiple selection to select customs products. However, this is possible only if a value was entered in the
field for product numbers beforehand.
The following transactions are concerned
/SAPSLL/PRODUCT_02
/SAPSLL/PRODUCT_03
/SAPSLL/PR_PRCON_02
/SAPSLL/PR_PRCON_03
/SAPSLL/PR_CUSTOMS02
/SAPSLL/PR_CUSTOMS03
Request Reason
The system behavior described always requires an entry in the field for product numbers, even if only the multiple selection is
to be used.
Improvement and Benefit
This correction allows direct usage of the multiple selection for the product number field without previous single entry.
User-friendliness is improved, and time is saved.

Remove Expired Tariff Numbers from HTS Selection
Screen
Improvement Request
During product classification/reclassification, the system shows HTS numbers with Valid To dates that are in the past. GTS
should only display the HTS numbers where the valid-to date is equal to or exceeds the current date.
Request Reason
The system behavior described always requires an entry in the field for product numbers, even if only the multiple selection is
to be used.
Current pain points and obstacles
The presence of end dated (i.e. invalid) HTS numbers clutters up the selection screen and makes it difficult to read. It also
increases the risk of assigning an expired HTS.

Implement US Aggregation Rules on Export Declaration https://influence.sap.com/D1348

Implement US Aggregation Rules on Export Declaration
There are aggregation rules in the system for EU, but not for US. AES filing for US requires that materials get aggregated by
commodity and country of origin to identify which lines require filing
Current pain points and obstacles
Inability to aggregate products requires the users to file at a material level rather than by commodity level. As a result,
companies either over file, or they waste time manually deleting line items that are under value. One client had 78 line items
and only 2 of the lines had to be filed. The user had to manually delete 76 lines. I believe SAP's intent was that because this
was automated, it would be seamless and no issue to just over file. However, right or wrong, some companies do not
maintain COO for all products (this would create unnecessary error on incompletion procedure), some companies do not
maintain commodity for all products (only classifiy if over $2500), and these would also create errors in incompletion. In an
example like this, it was easier to delete 76 lines, then it would be to follow proper channels and get products
classified. However, if aggregation rules were in place, neither of these would be an issue, as it would have only found 2
eligibile products

Implement US Aggregation Rules on Export Declaration
Improvement
The system summarizes identical declaration items when you send a declaration to the AES system, and it aggregates values
and quantities.
Benefit
The summarization of the identical declaration items reduces the volume of data to be transferred to AES and accelerates the
processing of the export declaration.
Delivery
You activate the item aggregation by assigning an aggregation schema to the communication activity sequences concerned in
Customizing. For more information about that, see the manual activity section of this SAP Note.

Implement US Aggregation Rules on Export Declaration
System Example
This declaration was sent to the AES system and
the corresponding Shipper´s Export Declaration
shows that the positions were aggregated:
Positions 1 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 7500 UDS
and
Position 2 = 1500 UDS
The customs declaration below shows a document with 6 positions. Only position 2 is a different one. All others are identical:

This new product catalogue displays
all products which were used in
customs declarations during the
selected period and compares master
data to aggregated document data in
the system.
The example shown in the screen shot
displays 3 descriptions used for the same
product:
- Keks (in the product master/ in dark blue)
- Keks (in a customs declaration)
- “2” (in another customs declaration)

Number Scheme: Allow More than One external UOM to Map to an internal UOM
https://influence.sap.com/D6201

Number Scheme: Allow More than One external UOM to
Map to an internal UOM
Improvement Request
There are several UOMs from the data providers that can map to a single UOM. However, GTS does not allow more than one
external UOM to map to an internal UOM.
For example, the data provider supplies a list of tariffs with UOM of PC (Piece) PCS (pieces) and NO (number). Typically, the
material master is set up as EA.
When trying to get the Alternate UOM to populate on the material master, can only map EA to one UOM (Number, Piece, and
Pieces, are all 1:1 mapping, but system only allows you to pick one of those UOMs to map against EA in configuration).
Example:
Tariff Number UOM
1401202010 NO
3213900000 PCS
Because of this limitation, heavy additional maintenance is required to convert all the parts with EA UOM on Material Master to
the other UOMs that represent an individual unit on product master/material master for export and import electronic filing. It
would save a lot of time if can do a mapping via configuration and then only manage the master data on an exception
only. The same issue applies for KG and KGM.
Request reason current pain points and obstacles
Able to map EA to one of the UOMs via configuration, but have to perform manual maintenance on material master/product
master to map the internal UOM to external UOM on all other parts classified with the other tariff that also represents an
individual unit. Very labor intensive (or have to build LSMW).

Number Scheme: Allow More than One external UOM to
Map to an internal UOM
Now it’s possible to convert several external UOM to one internal UOM, for example NO and PCS to EA.
For the conversion in the opposite direction, for instance UOM for depreciation quantities in an export declaration,
there must be a unique assignment. This assignment is made by flagging an external UOM as a primary unit for a
particular internal UOM, for example NO for EA.
Mass delete classification

Mass delete classification
It is now possible to delete product classifications only in the customs product master and thus for one product.
Using the transactions mentioned below, you can mass delete product classifications within a numbering scheme:
- /SAPSLL/PRCL_001_DEL (Delete Classifications via Worklist) --> import control classification numbers
- /SAPSLL/PRCL_002_DEL (Delete Classifications via Worklist) --> export control classification numbers
- /SAPSLL/PRCL_CUS_DEL (Delete Classifications via Worklist) --> tariff numbers and commodity codes
Depending on the number of products to be processed, the effort involved in maintenance is reduced immensely.

Auto-creation of Shipping to Supplementary UOM for Weight-based Supplementary UOMs for US Imports https://influence.sap.com/D1395
© 2014 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. 32 Customer
Auto-creation of Shipping to Supplementary UOM for
Weight-based Supplementary UOMs for US Imports
Improvement Request
For all Supplementary Tariff UOMs, GTS requires that the user manually calculate and load the Shipping UOM to
Supplementary UOM.
For weight-based Supplementary Tariff UOMs, GTS should calculate the conversion based on the product Net Weight.
For example:
SAP shipping UOM = Each and the Product weighs 0.5 kg and the US HTS code requires that the product be reported in KG
GTS should calculate the Supplementary UOM based on the shipping quantity and the product weight (rounded to whole
numbers for customs reporting)
If the product is shipped in cases, GTS should run the calculation based on the number of EACH per CASES, the number of
cases shipping, and the weight per EACH to comprise the KG quantity.
This could be accomplished in master data, or transactionally at the time of the entry filing.
Request reason, current pain points and obstacles
When a material is classified, it is difficult to remember to also modify the UOM conversion table in GTS to include any
Shipping UOM to Supplementary UOM conversions.
If the conversion is not in the UOM table in the GTS material master, US Customs will reject the customs entry due to an
invalid tariff UOM.
For weight-based products, this method is particularly challenging. When a material's weight is updated in SAP ECC, the new
weight is pushed to SAP GTS. However, there is no way to know that the weight is updated so, any conversion factor that
was manually entered in the UOM conversion table in GTS is no longer valid. This results in incorrect reporting (and potential
increased or decreased duty tax payments) for the material being imported.

Auto-creation of Shipping to Supplementary UOM for
Weight-based Supplementary UOMs for US Imports
Prior to this development, if conversion for a weight-based supplementary UOM and UOM of item/shipping quantity
is defined in the product master, the quantity for this supplementary UOM is calculated based on item/shipping
quantity and this conversion. This is an existing standard SAP GTS functionality.

Auto-creation of Shipping to Supplementary UOM for
Weight-based Supplementary UOMs for US Imports
With this development, in addition to the existing standard SAP GTS functionality, if conversion for a weight-based
supplementary UOM or UOM of item/shipping quantity is not defined in the product master, the quantity for this
supplementary UOM is calculated based on the item net weight.
