It is expected that many new LNG producing countries and more expansion in liquefaction will be taking place all over the world. “The CGD Network is at the tail end of natural gas value chain and thus the infrastructure is pivotal for the development of rest of the supply chain. It will, however, need a fully integrated gas supply infrastructure with uniform pricing alongside affordable end user prices, which can only be determined with targeted regulatory policies.”

“The demand of Natural Gas in India is on the threshold due to the government’s initiative of increasing the greener fuel share in the energy mix and on a nation-wide natural gas pipeline grid, coupled with commissioning of LNG import terminals in west coast. In the supply side, additional Regasified LNG (RLNG) terminals, transmission pipeline network and transnational pipelines would help to meet demand and achieve a higher share of natural gas in the overall installed capacity of energy.”

“India has massive plans to expand its LNG infrastructure. However, most of these plans involve setting up of LNG terminals. Emerging Trends in Refining & Petrochemicals in the Face of Global Uncertainties

Over 100 delegates from refining, petrochemicals, EPC services and other allied sectors attended the 9th edition of

Refining & petrochemicals conference organized concurrently during Refining & Petrochemicals World Expo 2018 in

Govt. of India, chaired the conference ‘Model Shift: Ganga as National Waterways 1’ organised concurrently during

SMP World Expo 2018.

The Indian Government is developing the Inland waterways as a means for effective logistics movement within the

country. At present the government is working on developing 9 inland waterways projects which will provide ample

business potential and create several employment opportunities.

The conference had focused panel discussions around the Emerging trends and synergies in Inland Waterways, Cruise,

Passenger Ferry & Ro-Ro opportunities on Inland Waterways, and Auxiliary Infrastructure for development of Inland

Waterways. The conference engaged the inland waterways authorities with the stakeholders from ports, shipping,

terminals, logistics services providers, crew management companies and training institutes during the conference.
