Congratulations... to the 1st Annual Ticket Raffle winners, Kay Sindt and Morgan White.
They each won 10 premium tickets to their choice of “The Arabian Nights”
performance. We would also like to extend a congratulations to Niki
Martin for selling the most raffle tickets and winning $150 gift
certificate to The Dance Shoppe. And to everyone who purchased or sold
tickets… thank you for making the ticket raffle a success!
Pick-up trucks, Parking Lots and Ballerinas...
Thank you to everyone who helped with the Wise Performing
Arts Guild’s 1st Annual Tailgate Party. The weather could not
have been more perfect and the dancers enjoyed getting out in
the fresh air for some hot off the grill burgers and hot dogs.
Thank you also to the Bridgeport Index for covering the event
and supporting the performing arts in Wise County!
The Wise Performing Arts Guild is looking for a few good props! As with any performance
there are props that need to be borrowed, bought or built. The following is a list of items
still needed for the production of “The Arabian Nights”: 8 hula hoops; dragon cookies
(something that can be used as food for the dragons and hidden in their leotards); a leath-
er looking pouch for Ali Baba's lunch, with fake food in it; a tray of food to present to the
sultan; a pitcher of wine to present to the sultan; and rich looking fabric or clothing to
present to the sultan. If you have any of these items, know someone who does or have a
brilliant idea about how to make any of these props please contact one of the Wise Per-
forming Arts Guild members or speak to Karen.
Looking for a few good props...

Advanced Ticket orders will be accepted April 15 - May 11, 2013
This is a great opportunity to purchase tickets for the section you want prior to public
ticket sales. Tickets are required for all patrons, even infants. We ask all patrons to
carefully consider before bringing any child under the age of three to the performance.
Please Note: This program is just over two hours long with only one 20-minute intermis-
sion. The performance will be professionally filmed and distressed children greatly affect
the quality of the recording. Strollers and infant carriers will not be permitted in the
theatre. Thank you for your consideration. ** There is wheelchair accessible seating.

We’re On The Web!
Karen’s Korner *No Jewelry *Go to the bathroom before or after class. *Dance shoes are to be worn only in the studio.
*Students are not allowed (at any age) to enter or leave the premises dressed only in a leotard, tights and dance shoes. Wear
a cover-up to and from the studio!
*Students should arrive and be ready to dance at least 5 minutes prior to their scheduled class time. It is very important not
to be late for class.
*Students should not be dropped off and left unattended more than 10 minutes before class.
*Parents must come into the building to pick up their children. NO EXCEPTIONS!
*All female students, (ages 5 & up) must have their hair neatly pinned and secured up off their necks in an acceptable ballet
bun, braid or twist. For ages 3 & 4 pony tails are acceptable. If the student’s hair is too short to wear in a bun, please wear an
elastic cloth headband with hair clips. There are practical reasons for this, as well as aesthetic ones. Body alignment is criti-
cal in ballet and the instructor must be able to see the line of a student’s body from the ears, the back of the neck and down
the spine.
Please keep and extra set of hair supplies (hair pins, bobby pins, hair nets, ponytail holders, hairspray) in the student’s dance
bag at all times.
*Children will not be allowed in the classroom until it is time for their scheduled class to begin.
*Laces & strings must be tucked into ballet slippers. If the strings are too long, please trim them—do not pull the string out
of the shoe.
All students MUST wear a cover
up over their leotard and tights
when entering and leaving the
studio. Parents MUST come
inside the studio to
pick up their dancers.
