Population Distribution•When the population of an area is set up

specifically from age, race or sex. Or when People live in a certain given area.

Human Settlement Pattern•A human Settlement Pattern is based on a

community formed by a group of people, where the community includes facilities, buildings and houses that helps them to thrive. The population and size of the settlement can change or stay the same.

Clustered Settlement•A pattern of settlement where people,

houses, and other buildings are placed together very closely.

Linear Settlement•a linear settlement, is a group of houses or

buildings that is formed in a long line. These lines normally follow a transportation route, such as a road, river, or canal. Though other linear settlements form because physical restrictions, such coastlines, mountains, hills or valleys. Linear settlements don’t normally have a center and the shape includes more of a long and narrow shape.

Scattered Settlement•A scattered settlement is the complete

opposite of a clustered settlement, because the buildings/houses are more separated and spread out. They are also more randomly placed, unlike the linear settlement. The most popular areas you would see a scattered settlement is in the farm land. In the farmland there is a lot more room to be spread out since there is far less buildings.

Population Density•Population density is a measurement of

population per unit area/volume. It is mainly referred to living organisms, and mostly to humans.

Overpopulation•Overpopulation is when the population of

a country, city, province etc. goes beyond the capacity of people. It often leads to clustered settlements and people having to make more room for the population by harming the environment.
