For those of you I haven’t met, my name is Christina DeSoto. I am so thrilled to be joining the CCS family once again this year as the full time Assistant Fine Arts Director. I also have the honor to be the Director for the Middle School Musical production. I directed the cast of Dear Edwina, Jr. and had such an amazing time doing so. I am excited to see who all participates in this year’s production!

This year’s Middle School musical will be Honk! JR. Honk! JR is a heartwarming celebration of being dif-ferent that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat the audiences to an equal amount of laugh-ter and tears. More than anything, this show has many opportunities for our students to shine.

Play Summary: Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother’s protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Honk! JR will be the first show to be performed in the new Fine Arts Building. In addition to the Middle School musical, we have an extraordinary year planned for the entire Fine Arts Department. Stay tuned and look out for our new monthly newsletter!

This meeting is mandatory for parents of all who want to audition. If for some reason you cannot make the meeting, you will need to set up an appointment to meet with Christina DeSoto and Matt Francis prior to the audition date.

You will receive an audition packet that includes the schedule of rehearsals.
