RES is a vibrant, exciting place. On top of the important learning happening in classrooms, I would like to highlight all that has and will be happening throughout these months. Basketball: What a great season it has been already! This past Thursday we hosted a day tournament for both the girls and boys teams. This was a huge success and so much fun for our teams! Thank-you to our coaches: Mrs. Crouch, Mr. Arntsen and Mr. Zee. We appreciate all of your hard work and dedication coaching these young athletes! Hot Lunch: As part of a fundraising for Rosthern Community School: Mrs. Weightman, Mrs. Isaak, Mrs. Quinney and myself have teamed up to offer RES hot lunches. We would like to extend a HUGE thank-you to George and Audrey Watson at the Bigway who have donated all the supplies! This is a great contribution to our fundraising and we really appreciate your generosity! Our first hot lunch was able to raise over $450! We will be continuing with hot lunches offering hotdogs one more time, and then some other options will be available! Thank-you to Mrs. Weightman and her work experience students for preparing the food at RHS for us! Thank-you to families for your support! Rosthern Community School: Mr. Luiten and I have been in the new school again. If you drive by at night you can likely see that the lights are on! Walls are painted (in some wings) and some of the cabinetry is being installed. The new Rosthern Community School Bulletin will have updated photos for all to see. Reminder that we also have a facebook page for the new school and we will provide an update of information when we can share it! Ever wonder what we do on PD days when kids are at home? Our staff has been working together in book clubs where we are learning on 3 main topics. Building relationships in our buildings, learning new and improved ways to approach learning, and learning about Indigenous Peoples rights and histories. We, RES and RHS staffs, meet once a month, after school, and share our learning, as well as participate in activities to approach topics of the new school. I am looking forward to the next month here at RES! What a learning jour- ney I have been on this year so far, and I know that I will continue to learn so much more! Thank-you also to all of our parents, there is nothing better than meeting with parents to discuss the best approach to your childs learning. What a great school to send your children too, thank-you for trusting us with them! Andrea Foster
