CAMART2 the only supported project in the nearest 1500km Strong support from Latvian government and University of Latvia
The current project CAMART2 (“Excellence Centre of Advanced
Material Research and Technology Transfer”) is aimed to upgrade the
existing Centre to a new, significantly stronger Centre of Excellence
and open the research knowledge and infrastructure of ISSP for
Innovation and Technology Transfer.

To become Open Innovation Test Bed**
* KETs Technology Centres are public or private organisations carrying out applied research and close-to-market innovation (Technology Readiness Levels TRL 3 to 8, not
necessarily the whole range) in Key Enabling Technologies
** Open Innovation Test Beds will provide the development and upscaling of advanced materials and nanotechnologies, combining digital, chemical and
physical advances for innovative new products and services.

Conclusions and Solutions: • Hardware and knowledge too expensive to have all at one technology centre («node»)
• Specialization («smart») and networking of «nodes» could be solution
• Around such «nodes» academies and SME could develop innovation ecosystem
• Wide spatial distribution of «nodes» - important for balanced development of regions
• Even imperfect «node» is quite expensive – establishment should be supported by synergy of all possible financial sources (H2020, ESIF, Public and Private Partnership etc.)
• Building of network and «cross node» access needs to be supported by special measures - may be «Open Innovation Test Beds»
• «nodes» should act as regional hubs for SME to access and use network of Innovation Test Beds
• Academics need to access and use network to convert ideas into the products
