The universal Sowing and Reaping Imperative reminds us:
1. Every action is a SEED. After we have done some-thing; that is not the end of it… it is just the begin-ning; it will begin to grow. Because tomorrow we will eat of the fruit we are planting today, be sure you are planting good seed with every action.
2. This life is SEED-time. Eternity depends on this moment. If you listen carefully at the graveside ceremony of your own funeral – you’ll hear me quote this verse: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord…for their deeds follow them. -Revelation 14:13
3. To have HOPE. Your works and kindness are never lost… they will always grow up into a harvest. Remember all action is seed – it will reap a harvest! Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again. -Ecclesiastes 11:1
4. To be COMFORTED. Seed-time is always a hard time. It can be gloomy to do good, do the right thing; the deed is done and there is no thanks, and no one knows the price you’ve paid, the seed is buried and gone…ahhh but it will spring up again; you have God’s law; universal, categorical impera-tive it will spring up again and when it does, it will reward you 100-fold (Matthew 13:8). It will be a monster so big it could eat Texas; you will reap with songs of joy! Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. -Psalm 126:5
