Training For Your FutureIn 1999, IPC

changed its name from

Institute of Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits to IPC

. Our

name is accom

panied by an identity statement, A

ssociation Connecting Electronics Industries.

 IPC w

as founded in 1957 as the Institute for Printed Circuits. A

s more electronics assem

bly companies becam

e involved w

ith the association, the name w

as changed to the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic C

ircuits. By the 1990s, most people in the industry could not rem

ember the full nam

e and/or didn't agree on what

the words in the nam

e meant.

Mem

bers expressed overwhelm

ing approval for keeping the initials IPC. R

esearch indicated that there was no one

word or expression that adequately describes IPC

's constituency - OEM

s, board manufacturers, electronics

manufacturing services com

panies and their suppliers. To avoid another awkw

ard name or a nam

e that excludes any of our m

embers, the IPC

Board of Directors agreed to m

ake IPC the form

al name of the organisation.

Our board selected "A

ssociation Connecting Electronics Industries" as the perfect com

plement to our nam

e because it expresses IPC

's mission of netw

orking and technical exchange as well as em

phasising the importance of

the printed circuit board.Im

pact. is a fully independent training organisation, which has been presenting training courses since 1999. O

ur custom

er base includes many of the large, and sm

aller electronic companies around the country.

Training is carried out using the latest equipment for soldering and rew

ork of printed circuit boards. As

independent consultants, Impact can offer unbiased advice regarding specialised rew

ork equipment.

Impact provide in-house training w

hich can be customised to m

eet the needs of your company.

Impact are one of just a few

fully accredited IPC certification centres around the w

orld that can offer IPC certified

training at both instructor and operator level.
