ATHLETE Wristband Each competitor will receive his/her race numbered wristband at

Registration on spot. The wristband will immediately be attached to the wrist of the athlete by a volunteer.

The wristband must be kept on at your wrist from your registration on spot to the awards Ceremony, Heroes Night, on Monday 27th June.

Special needs aid stations The athlete can ask for “Special needs“ bags at the registration stand

(optional).

The special needs aid stations are located: On the bike circuit: km 70 – Col de l‘Ecre

You can not take your bag on your bike. You must stop, take your food/drinks and let the bag at the aid station point.

On the run circuit: at the Fabron aid station (access one time during the race).

Bike safety Actions for your bike security :

A photo of each athlete with his/her bike will be taken at the Check-in.At the Check-out after the race, the photo will verify the legal owner of the bike.Transition Area will be under video-monitoring at all times.

Please help us to keep an eye on suspect situations regarding theft of bikes report to the security staff!

In the past, bikes have been stolen OUTSIDE of the transition area.Be careful and do not leave your bike alone, always lock it or keep an eye on it!

SWIM Rules Do not swim with your start number.

Official Swim caps provided by the organizer MUST be worn.

It is permitted to swim in a wet-suit up to a water temperature 24°C. In case it is forbidden to swim in a wet-suit, the athletes may only wear a swim suit with FINA certification. Wearing more than one swim suit is forbidden.

The wetsuit must be taken off only in the transition tent.

It‘s not permitted to wear socks or gloves during the SWIM.

The wetsuit must not be completely removed before the transition area.

into the transition tent, otherwise you can change outside!

BIKE rules On Sunday morning, modifications on your wheels are

forbidden. You must constantly wear your helmet with the chinstrap

closed. The race number must be visibly worn on your lower back. Respect the traffic rules. Ride on the right, do not cut the corners. Escorting (car, motorbike, bike,...) and assistance are

forbidden. Respect the drafting zone. Do not block the road to a competitor. Always ride on the far right of the right lane of the road.

NO DRAFTING The distance between two athletes (Drafting zone) is 7m

(front tyre to back tyre).

If you enter in this zone, you will receive a black card = 6 min in penalty box.

You must mandatory stop to the next penalty box to do your penalty. The marshal will mark your race number.

If you do not go to the penalty box: The first time, you receive a penalty of 10 minutes. The second time, you are disqualified.

CHATEAUNEUF | Km 55 This point is located at the middle of the climb to the “Col de l’Ecre” (Ecre pass) just before the junction to Gourdon / car park and ideal location to see the athletes in a hair-pin bend which looks like “Alpes d’Huez” .

GOURDON | Km 62 Elected “one of the most beautiful French villages” various times, exceptional place to see the athletes suffering at 7 kms from the Col de l’Ecre / Terrace bar boarding the race / Easy to park the cars / Athletes are spaced out.

GATTIERES | Km 150 Village crossed round-trip by the athletes / animation / athletes closed to the arrival need to be encouraged / important commitment of the inhabitants to welcome the IRONMAN.

LA GAUDE – LA BARONNE | Km 165 Last aid station of the race / Animation / 20 km from the arrival, the most difficult moment for the athletes who will need your encouragements.

11.45 am 4.30 pmAccess by St Laurent du Var Carros by the « Route de la Baronne » (D2209).

BE CAREFUL  Wherever you go, please plan your arrival to the different places 30 min before the first athletes arrive, to not be in the athletes’ way and to access more easily. The bike circuit is located in a NATURA 2000 area and its environment is fragile. Please respect the ONF rules about car-park areas, harmful noises and wastes : keep them with you and throw them to dedicated areas

BIKE 180 kmA “sweeper bus“ will indicate the ‘‘last possible finisher“

position on the bike course. You have to join the "St Barnabe" point before 3:10 pm. The driver will take your start number.

Then you have two possibilities: Take the bus to return to Nice with your bike. Finish the bike course under your own responsibility (roads will be

open to the public traffic).

Eco Zones at the beginning and at the end of each aid station BIKE and RUN.

Otherwise you will receive a penalty.

have received a penalty during the BIKE.

Go to the Penalty box and wait until the end of your penalty (countdown starts once you stop discussing with the marshalls).

After your penalty, you can change and start your marathon.

RUN 42.195 km 4 laps on the Promenade des Anglais.One aid station every 1.7 km.Get your wristband (“chouchou“) at the end of each loop.

If “chouchous” are distributed at each end

of the loop to prove that the athletes passed

the different loops; it's the athlete responsibility

to ensure he collects the bands himself.

Before entering the finish line, the athlete must

have collected 3 “chouchous”

(no “chouchou” for the fourth loop).

RUN Rules Wear the race number visibly at your front.

If you use a start number belt, the start number have to be secured in three points minimum and positioned at waist level.

The athlete must have a racing suit in conformity (do not run naked torso, tri-function can only be opened till the lower sternum and keep the straps on the shoulders, ...).

Escorting (bike, roller, runner, ...) and assistance are forbidden.

General rulesA referee‘s decision is the final decision!

Protests: The protest must be filed in English or French and

must describe the reason of the reclamation. You have to deposit a € 50 protest-fee. Protest must be submitted until Monday, 27th of June,

Persons directly affected by a sanction have the right to file a protest. It is possible to file a protest against a disqualification, an immediate disqualification or the official race results.

Each athlete have to respect all the rules of the organization and be respectful of the marshals, the volunteers and the organization staff.

Ironman France has adopted a proactive and eco-friendly approach of the race.

This simply means that throwing the wastes on the course in other zones than

Eco Zones will not be tolerated.

Marshalls will be specifically targeting offenders and penalties will be applied.

So whatever you take out on the course please bring it back with you till

the transition area or throw it in the Eco Zones.

Thank you to respect the local villages of Nice hinterland which hosts the

Ironman France and offers you a beautiful bike course.

As Ironman France competitor, You HAVE to respect the following rules:

The start of the swim on the beach must be taken barefoot: sandals, flip-flops, etc are forbidden.

Do not throw (gels, papers, bottles, cups) outside of the ECO ZONES!

Failure to respect this rule will be punished by :

- a red card if the action is done intentionally.

- a yellow card if the action can be repaired.
