On Saturday April 29, 2006, at the “Mayhem at the Mirage II”, Imani Lee won by KO in the second round. Imani knocked his opponent, John James, down four times by the middle of the second round, resulting in another competitive win for Imani Lee. John “The Panther” James from Grand Rapids, Michigan, was no match for Imani Lee’s brute strength and skill as a K-1 fighter. Los Angeles, California: Imani now has two K-1 fights and two K-1 wins to his credit, and he will fight again later this year. The next Las Vegas K-1 event will take place on August 15 th at the Bellagio Hotel. Imani is scheduled to be in the eight man tournament event of the evening and will be training intensely for the opportunity to further advance his K-1 career. Imani Lee, a native of Alexandria, Virginia, switched into the K-1 arena after a seven year heavyweight boxing career. Heavier than most in the K-1 field, the 6 feet 5 inches tall, 300 pound Lee, took his inspiration from another “big guy” Bob Sapp. Imani saw what the great professional veteran fighter Bob “The Beast” Sapp achieved in K-1. Bob Sapp, at 6 feet 7 inches tall and 374 pounds, (substantially bigger than Imani) was able to achieve greatness in K-1, though his weight was not typical of a K-1 contender. Eddy Millis’ Shark Tank Gym in Rancho Cucamonga, California (where Imani Lee trains) provided an additional win at the “Mayhem at the Mirage II”. Fighter Maurice Jackson (also trained by Eddy Millis) defeated Dan Green by unanimous decision in a preliminary bout.
