• A successful display of
a 4x6 inches Digital On-
screen Image and
Digital Print Image do
not share the same
pixel characteristics or
resolution.
• A successful and flawless Image must first be
assessed and then resample before it is present for
Best Quality Digital Output.

Detect A Balance between Image Size, Display Setting, and Screen Size
Some cases an Image can:Take-up the entire application window – so adjust monitor settings accordantly.

Detect Display Setting Before Exhibiting On-screen
Various display resolutions change the exhibit of Negative Space surrounding the Image (Positive Space) orAn Image display at a smaller size is due to increasing monitor setting –
image display only needs to match the monitor resolution.

Image Characteristics: Resolution Guidelines
• Resolution(Res.): To determine the image resolutiondecide the final output – it may be both.
- On-screen Output:PC platform 96 res. (minimum resolution)MAC platform 72 res. (minimum resolution)PC and MAC recommend not exceeding an image[Image, actual size for output (scale 100%)] of 144 resolution.
Double the on-screen resolutions for print out-put: 72x2 or 96x2 (see next sub-bullet).On-screen presentation out-put of Handouts and Note Pages will deliver required resolutionto print quality hardcopy, as the presentation slides are scaled down (50%) to fit 2-slides perpage (Handouts) or 1-slide with note space (Note Pages).
- Digital Print Output for both platforms:192 res. used for small fine text or charts144 res. used for image slides (minimum resolution)Both resolutions deliver the required resolution to print quality hardcopy.
The larger the file size, increases the chances for print and sharing errors.
• Document Size: Actual size for output (scale 100%). If on-screen, projection (monitorsize) is larger than document size (File > Page Setup) increase image size [resolution, pixels, or document size (scale)] to compensate for scale of monitor projection.
• Pixel Dimensions: Pixel aspect ratio is relative to Document Size

Most home and office inkjet orlaser printers will deliversuccessful prints using theseprint resolutions. Alternatively, see printer manual or serviceprovider for recommendedimage resolution – the bestresolution for print output is theprinter’s DPI (Dots Per Inch)capacity.
