What is an interlibrary loan (ILL)?
Before applying:Before submitting you interlibrary loan application at the Library desk, please ensure that you have first exhausted allresources available to you from DBS Library by checking the Library’s online catalogue and the Library’s online databases:
- if you are looking for a book, check first the Library’s online catalogue to see if a print and/or electronic version of thebook is available within DBS Library collection. The online catalogue is searchable via the “Search electronic resources” searchfield on the Library website homepage, “catalogue” option.
- if you are looking for a journal/magazine article, check first the Library’s online databases. The databases are searchablevia the “Search electronic resources” search field on the Library website homepage, “databases” option, or via your Athensaccount.
If the resource you are looking for is not available from DBS Library’s resources, you can then consider doing a general searchin Google Scholar or Google but you must ensure that you use the Google “advanced search” option and that you enter thefull title of the resource you are looking for in the “this exact wording or phrase” field and that you select “PDF” in the “filetype” dropdown menu.
