American teens abused prescription drugs in 2005.

"In 2006 there were 307 deaths due to overdose on prescription drugs, which was the No. 1 cause of injury deaths, which is higher than automobile crashes and illegal drug overdose deaths," said Erin Johnson, program manager for the Prescription Pain Medication Program with Utah Department of Health.
