Press releaae of this date from Aufbau, an Azerican weekly in German

and English published in New York City.

"One of the most peefidious Nazi agents seems to be the instigator

of the recent pogroms in CP.Ire during which a yproximately 250 Jews cod

quite a lot of foreigners, among them the American citizen HASS, were

murdered. According to Aufbau, American wee-kly in German and English

the infamous Gestapo agent, Adolf Karl EICENAM, who escaped from a

prisoners camp at Regensburg, (Bavaria) is now in Egypt, anoarentIy

working urdergrourd. EICENANN I s relatives, living at Linz, (Upper

Austria), received news which gives the im pression that EICHMARN

found asylum in Cairo.

During the winter of 1945-1946, ETCHWANN was a prisoner in

a U.S. Pow camp at Rimini, flay, NZ together with former Gestapo

chief in Rome, KAPPLER, and tho former Gestapo chief in Milan, an ex-

Naval officer (n.u.) That winter, both RICHMAN and the ex-Naval officer

worm tranaferred to another U.S. Pow 'camp and escaped, separately, after

learning of the life sentence given KAPPLER by the Italians.

Their escape route led from German through Innsbruck to Rome.

In Homo they obtained Syrian laisses-passors, money, and tickets to Syria

froa the Syrinn Legation. Ths ez-Veval officer arrived in Syria in 1948

to leave Egypt in 1951 as he had no permit to stay, Mme. ORTNeR was

unable to state the present whereabouts of =ROM EICHMANN.

. light brown, face oval. Founded the Ltda. in Vienna in 1938. Later

went to Prague. On outbreak of war its believed to have gone to Berlin to

sot up the =ill beqtrs of the I Z.f.J.A. And to have controlled from there

all the special commandos sent to the nowly occupied territories to deal with

Jewish problems. During the last war he was an official of Amt. /V of RS!(

In July 46 it was reported, but never confirmed, that subject was believed

to have been in Jerusalem or with the Mufti. In Aug 46 a rpt said evbject

might have left Egypt for Damascus in the company of certain Arab rtnagades.
