Objectives

The aim is to help the user – independent of his knowledge – to find the best way towards the needed property. Depending on his application he has to be guided to the database and if no values are available he will be be guided to the optimum measurement technique and then to the appropriate laboratory.

Measurement Techniques IThe relevant criteria to select measurement technique are:

-- sample geometry

-- temperature range

-- type of materials

-- transient techniques (IPSAS, LNE, ZAE): thermal diffusivity, calculation of thermal conductivity

Measurement Techniques II

Written standards-collection of national, European, ASTM and international standards

-translation of key-words, titles, etc. to the English language

-publication to the WEB-page (database)

- if necessary: recommendation of the development of new written standards on CEN/ISO-level

Written standards exist for many measurement techniques. An important working point will be the comparison of different existing written standards, with aim of harmonisation
