Parent Teacher Association!Many of you may be wondering what exactly is the PTA and what do they do for IICS? The PTA is the Parent Teacher Association and is the link between parents, teachers and the leadership team. We raise funds to provide activities and services for the students, the parents and the school. All parents and teachers are members of the PTA and our goal is to facilitate your participation in the IICS community.

Meet other parents at a Coffee Morning or Parent Field Trip and bring your entire family to the Super-hero Fun Run and International Day! Have ideas for new programs or events? Join us at a committee meeting and help us make the IICS family even more strong!

Hello from the BOOSTER CLUBThe PTA Booster Club is an enthusiastic group of parent volunteers who help out with the home tournaments and activities at IICS.

The money we raise is used to enhance the extra-curricular life of both IICS campuses. Our students are involved in prioritizing and deciding where the donated funds will go.

We encourage new members to join us - whether or not your child participates in activities or sports. It is a fun experience and a great way to meet other IICS families!

THE BOOK SWAPThe Book Swap is another opportu-nity to help build our children’s love of reading. Students bring their gently used books to donate to the swap. On swap day, they can "purchase" new books based on the number they had contributed to the swap the week before.

BOOK FAIRS Greenhouse Books will come to both campuses twice this year to give students, parents and teachers the opportunity to purchase books. Also, there will be catalogues sent home with students throughout the year to provide more opportunities to buy books. For every book purchased, Greenhouse Books provides a discount to IICS for our libraries' purchases of its books.

INTERNATIONAL DAYThis event is a celebration of the many cultures represented at IICS. This is the biggest whole school event of the year and fundraiser for PTA projects. It also a fun time when we get a chance to meet other IICS families and faculty. Mark the date and come along to enjoy and contribute to the games, interna-tional cuisine, entertainment and much more. International Day is October 17.

PTA COFFEE MORNINGSGuest Speakers from the IICS Admin-istration and Staff, as well as the greater Istanbul community, provide information on a variety of topics pertinent to parents of school age children. These meetings also offer social time and an opportunity to share ideas for future school events.

PARENT FIELD TRIPSJoin us and make new friends as we explore Asia, Europe, and the Golden Horn. Plus, enjoy new culinary delights over lunch during each field trip. Parent Field Trips will alternate between short and long time frames for variety. First tour: September 3.

IICS SUPERHERO FUN RUNThis day is dedicated to sports and fun activities for the whole family, complete with a delicious picnic and BBQ at our remarkable Marmara Campus. It is a perfect day to catch up with other families and welcome new ones into our community in a relaxed atmosphere. The Family Fun Run is September 12.

FUNKY FRIDAY TREAT DAYS Families are asked to donate baked goods and treats once or twice during the school year so that the students may purchase them on designated treat days. The funds raised support the PTA programs and services provided to the IICS community throughout the year.

TEACHER APPRECIATION DAYThree times a year families are asked to contribute snacks and treats for our teachers to show our apprecia-tion and support for their hard work throughout the year.
