IHB ShipDesign EAD is a Bulgarian company, member of Industrial Holding Bulgaria (IHB). It is continuation of Vik-Sandvik-IHB Design - successful joint venture established in 2007 between Vik-Sandvik AS (the biggest independent ship design group in the world at that time) and young and motivated designing team of Bulyard, the biggest Bulgarian shipyard (part of Industrial Holding Bulgaria).

2004 - acquisition of Bulyard (Varna Shipyard) by IHB

2007 - establishment of Vik-Sandvik-IHB Design

2008 - acquisition of Vik-Sandvik AS by Wärtsilä / changing name to Wärtsilä IHB Ship Design Bulgaria

2010 - Wärtsilä quits the joint venture

2011 - IHB directs efforts in ship repair and retrofit upgrades/conversions

2014 - IHB reactivates it’s activities in the field of ship design and engineering Industrial Holding Bulgaria (IHB)
