Convergent BoundariesConvergent Boundaries exist when two plates
are colliding together. There are three different types of Convergent Boundaries: 1. Ocean:Ocean2. Ocean:Continent 3. Continent:Continent.
Exists when two plates are being pushed together.
![Page 4: Ignite](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022061304/549672e8b47959507a8b45f2/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Ocean: Ocean ConvergentTwo oceanic plates colliding, one has to give
and one goes down as the other one rises up. Most have the same density.
Creates volcanoes and earthquakes caused by the faults.

Example
The Ring of Fire
![Page 6: Ignite](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022061304/549672e8b47959507a8b45f2/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Ocean:Continent ConvergentOceanic crust will always go down and the
continental crust will always go up, because the continental crust is more dense.
Earthquakes are caused by the trenches.Partial melting of oceanic and continental
crust cause explosive magma.
![Page 7: Ignite](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022061304/549672e8b47959507a8b45f2/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Example
The Mariana Trench – Underwater Volcanoes!

Continent:Continent ConvergentCauses a lot of faults by the rocks pushing
together. Potential for earthquake activity. No volcanoes because there is no subduction
zone.Enormous mountain ranges.
![Page 9: Ignite](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022061304/549672e8b47959507a8b45f2/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Example

Divergent Plate BoundariesExists when two plats are being pulled apart
from one another. There are two different types of Divergent
Plate Boundaries:1. Ocean:Ocean 2. Continent:Continent
![Page 11: Ignite](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022061304/549672e8b47959507a8b45f2/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Ocean:Ocean DivergentNew crust is being made.Underwater mountains and volcanoes exist. Also called a spreading center, the further
away from the spreading center, the older the crust.
![Page 12: Ignite](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022061304/549672e8b47959507a8b45f2/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)

Continent:Continent DivergentWhen a continental crust is pulled apart, it
causes a rift valley. Not making any new crust.

Transform Fault BoundaryExists when two plates are sliding past one
another. There are two types of Transform Fault
Boundaries:1. Ocean:Ocean2. Continent:Continent

Ocean:Ocean or Continent:Continet Transform FaultSqueezed in different directions. As they move, earthquakes happen. They can
be along side any other plate boundary.
