Our Lady of Fa ma Commemora on October 13, 2018 will commemorate the 101st. anniversary of the last appari on of Our Lady of Fa ma to the three shepherd children. To honor this anniversary, St. Benedict Church and the Our Lady of Fa ma Commi ee will be holding its 4:30 Mass to honor our Lady. This will be a two day event star ng on October 13th at the 4:30 mass, preceded by a reci ng of the Rosary, followed on Sunday the 14th. by a 12:30 bi-lingual Mass and con nued at St. Benedict Hall for a tradi onal free "Sopas" meal. Knights of Columbus Chilli Verde fundraiser The Knights of Columbus will be hos ng its next “drive through” fundraising event on Friday October 26, 2018. We have been promised that it will be Chilli Verde this me! Tickets will go on sale star ng Saturday September 22nd and will con nue un l October 21st. As last me, the ckets will be $10.00 per plate. Call to service as Deacon

As the Church of Monterey con nues to grow, our needs for the ministry of service con nue to grow by leaps and bounds. The Deacon’s ministry is threefold: to the service of Charity/Jus ce; service of the Word; and service of the Liturgy. To learn more about the life and ministry of a Deacon in the Church, there will be informa on sessions held around the diocese (dates, mes, loca ons listed below). They are offered for those who want to ex-plore a possible call to this ordained ministry. It is recommended that married men who are interest-ed also bring their wives with them as it is her jour-ney of discernment as well.
