one PLC solves safety-related applications,

the second PLC either works as a standard

PLC or as platform for other tasks.

Both PLCs communicate with each other,

so that entire plant controls can be im-

plemented including safety functions and

visualisations with one only smart PLC.

Operationalsystem data can berecorded via AS-i,EtherCAT, ModbusTCP, Profinet,EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP,UDP/IP or storedon the SD card orin the internalflash memory.If needed, the in-tegrated real-timeclock provides atime stamp foreach recorded datablock.This simplifies thedocumentationand diagnostics ofprocesses.

A freely program-mable web visuali-sation based onHTML5 providesmaximum transpa-rency. An internetbrowser withHTML5 capabilityis sufficient on thefinal unit (PC, tab-let, smartphone).No further soft-ware is required.Even the full gra-phic display of theSmartPLC is freelyprogrammable forvisualisation tasks.

With the new ifmsystem solutionapps, the processdata of differentsensors is transmit-ted to commonfieldbus systemsand their parame-ters are easilymade accessible.These tailored appscan be loadedonto the SmartPLCwithout program-ming software.This makes yourinstallation fit forIndustry 4.0.
