-Nathaniel Bacon led colonial frontiersmen against Governor William Berkeley (Virginia)-They were angered by lack of protection from Native American attacks-Jamestown was burned-After the rebellion, more slave labor was used rather than indentured servants

-led rebellion Sir William Berkely (Gov of VA) who favored large planters/didn’t protect farmers
-Bacon raised army of volunteers (1676) led raids against Indian villages on VA frontiers (1,000 men)
BACON’S REBELLION…
Defeated the governor’s forces/burned Jamestown Bacon died (dysentery)& rebellion ended. Gov Berkely had 20 men hanged.
