Craft
Toilet Paper Roll PenguinBuilding Materials:• empty toilet paper rolls
• black, white, and orange construction paper
• penguin templates
• tape
• stick glue
• scissors
• hole punch
• black marker
• yellow feathers (optional)
Directions:
1. Print and cut out the penguin
templates.
2. Wrap the black construction paper
around the toilet paper roll and glue in
place.
3. Glue the white belly (upside-down “U”
shape) on the penguin.
4. Punch two holes in a white piece of
paper. Draw a small black dot in the
center of each circle. Glue the circles
on for eyes.
5. Cut a small triangle out of the orange
construction paper for the bill. Glue it
on the penguin under the eyes.
6. Glue one black wing on each side of
the penguin. Glue just the top of the
wing and fold the bottom of the wing
to make it stand out.
7. Tape or glue the two feet inside the
tube and fold outwards.
8. Optional: Cut two small pieces of a
yellow feather and tape inside the top
of the roll for a crest. (We left this off
for the STEM challenge.)© Stephanie Trapp
