Information requirement for path computation in electro-optical multi-layer network
Motivation• There four paths for LSP which from A to D:
– A-B-C-D, A-B-C-F-D, A-E-F-D, A-E-F-C-D;• Modulation type of interface
– If-2 and If-8 is DPSK,;– If-11 is DQPSK;– In node C, some internal link is DPSK, others is DQPSK
• So– A-E-F-D is not used;– A-B-C-F-D and A-E-F-C-D are not sure to be used;

Information extension• Key devices of electro-optical conversion: optical transmitter and optical receiver;• Characteristic of optical transmitter:
– Tunable;– Tuning range;– Tuning time;– Modulation type;– FEC type;– Signal type;
• Characteristic of optical receiver:– Tunable;– Tuning range; – Tuning time;– Modulation type;– FEC type;– Signal type;
• Every characteristic is optional.

Protocol Extension Requiement for Mult-Layer in OTN
• Extending Requirement protocols– OSPF or ISIS need be extended;– Signal protocol need be extend to inform the internal
link when LSP is creating;– PCEP protocol need be extended to inform the internal
link when PCE is used for path computation;
