Action Plan for IEC Activities allocated to


IECInformation, Education, and

Communication.

A proposal for IEC activities was prepared &

submitted by CWC to MOWR in July,2008.

The proposal (estimated cost of Rs. 186.30

lakh)has been approved by MOWR under

IEC Scheme -Advertising & Publicity, Plan on30.10.2008.

Action Plan for IEC Activities


IEC Activities shall be carried out both at CWC H.Q. as well as its 14regional field offices including National Water Academy .

For implementing IEC activities/ disseminating information, five level/unitsare identified in CWC.

(i) CWC H.Q.

(ii) Regional Chief Engineers' offices and the respective subordinate fieldunits located at the same place.

(iii) Circle /Directorates, Division, Sub Division at independent places

The Media Committee at the CWC H.Q reconstituted underMember (RM).

Similar Media Committees have been formed under the

Chairman ship of regional Chief Engineers of CWC -Superintending Engineer (C) as the Member-Secretary ofconcerned region.

1.Organising and participating in workshops seminars forGovernment, Non-Government organisations, Panchayat institutions and other

stake holders of Water Resources Development -Rs. 59.40 lakh. 2. Printing and distribution of printed material like posters, banners,

-pamphlets, stickers, booklets, translites, electronic sign boards etc. - Rs. 45.00lakh.

3.Advertisement through mass media transport vehicles viz. busback panel, hoardings, railway stations, airports etc. -Rs. 24.30 lakh.

4. Murals and displays at prominent places like airports, bus stops,

railway stations etc. -Rs.12.60 lakh. 5.Celebration of special days viz. World Water Day, Water Resources

Day etc. to generate awareness on water issues Rs.45.00Lakh.

CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION Nagpur Office: Seminar at Womens college of Arts & Commerce taken place in

January, 2009. Drawing competition at 15 places have been completed in the month of

February, 2009 & Water Resources Day shall be observed in March, 2009. 45 SecondsAudio-Visual animation , advt. Giving message of Save Water has been prepared.Mural display at Railway Station (Nagpur, Chandpur, Ballasrshah, Wardha,Dharmangaon, Pulgaon ) has been prepared for display. LCD display at Nagpur Airportstarted. Small slogan display on cable T.V. network has already been started.Painting competition for Rural students (Std. I-XII ) to be organised in 15 villages.Study tour for 100 students & competition at Girls college for creating waterawareness has been organised in January, 2009. One full day Workshop for 1000Farmers has been organised in Feb.2009.

Chandigarh Office: One workshop is being planned in the month of March, 09 inH.P. and more Workshop shall be held in J&K & Chandigarh in the next financial year.Display on the bus panel on 25 Nos. CTU buses plying in H.P., J&K, Punjab.

Bangalore Office : One workshop/ Seminar is being organised in the month of March2009 by inviting State / Central Agencies at Hyderabad, Blore , Chennai ,Tiruvananthapuram.. Action for advt. through Bus side panels, hoardings at bus stands

& railway stations is being undertaken in Feb./March, 09. Action has been initiated formaking display boards at prominent places like bus stops , railway stations.

CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION YBO, Delhi : CWC is planning to participate in 2009 Exhibition to be held in 2ndApr-22ndMay, 2009 at Trishur Pooram, Kerala. Advt. through mass media like transportvehicles etc. is being planned. Celebration of World Day, Water Resources Day at

Delhi is being organised. CWC is also organizing visits of School students to theEngg. Museum every year to create mass awareness about Water. Hording at NewDelhi, Old Delhi, Nizamudin Railway Stations and Metro Pillars Rajiv Chowk to DwarkaMetro Rail line. Display board at Central Sectt., Patel Chowk, Rajiv chowk andKashmiri gate Metro Station have installed

Bhopal Office : 2 Days Workshop is being organised on Public Participation inWater Resources Management in Marrch, 2009 at Bhopal. 2 days Workshop hasbeen organised at Raipur, Chhatisgarh on Womens contribution towards WaterManagement. Another 2 days Workshop has been organised on Drinking waterschemes for cities at Indore, M.P. Painting competition on Water & the Life beingorganized at Bhopal.

Pune Office : Mural display at Pune Railway station and Electronic display in front ofNWA main building have been planned.

Patna Office: Workshop/ Seminar is being organized in Bihar, Jharkhand & W.B.Celebration of World Day & Water Resources to create Mass Awareness on water

Celebration of World Water Day, WaterRsources Day is being organised at Lucknow, Varanasi & Dehradun.Advt. through mass media , transport vehicles like bus & display atprominent places like bus stands are being planned at Lucknow.

Hyderabad Office: Advt. through mass media, transport vehicle, busback panel has been planned for Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Rajamundri,

Aurangabad, Pune. Mural display at bus stand also planned atHyderabad.

Gandinagar Office: Workshop/ Seminar being organised in Western Zone

Jaipur Office: Seminar on Integrated Water Resources Development &Management is being organised at Jaipur.
