IDMAJ- Cooperation for the integration of the visibly blind and disabled.

What is IDMAJ?• Started in 1992, as a literacy and support center for
the disabled. Based at the University of law, Marrakesh.
• Since 2008, a successful daily drop in program, teaching and supporting the visually impaired and the physically disabled.
• Beneficiaries study Braille and Computer studies.• Partnership with the American Language Center and
together they provide English tuition and a weekly Integration club.
• Staffed by volunteers.• Distribution center of donated wheelchairs for the
disabled.• Key objective to support beneficiaries basic needs and
increase their chances of finding employment.• The first association of it’s kind in Morocco.
Beneficiaries• Over 250 people have been helped at IDMAJ.• Beneficiaries are exposed to exclusion, have
special needs and have received little or no education.
• Majority of visually impaired beneficiaries have lost their sight later in life.

Future Projects • New large mopeds for individuals to start
their own business.• The cooperation will print and sell books
in Braille to educational institutions throughout Morocco.
